Civil Rights

Ipswich Public Schools is firmly committed to creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment for all students and staff. The District affirms that no person shall be discriminated against or harassed on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, sex/gender, gender identity, age, disability, sexual orientation, veteran/military status, genetic information, marital status or any other protected characteristic under federal or state law.

Within the Student Services division, supports include oversight of protections such as the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and related accommodations, ensuring that students with disabilities or other protected statuses have access to the full range of the District’s programs, services, and activities.

In addition, the District provides mechanisms for reporting discrimination or harassment concerns — ensuring that students, families, and staff have clear pathways to raise issues, receive investigation and resolution, and access necessary supports for remediation and prevention.
