• How to Apply for a Paine Grant:

    1. First, review the rubric the Paine Grant Committee uses to evaluate and approve grant applications. View a sample rubric here.

    2. Review the End of Year Reporting Form reporting form which is required for all grant recipients. View the End of Year Reporting Form here.

    3. Complete the application form, including a detailed budget sheet, and submit it electronically by the DEADLINE of the second Friday in March. Central office will obtain signatures from the Building Administrator, the Technology Department, and the Superintendent, at which point the application will be considered complete. Late applications and paper applications will not be accepted.

    4. You will be invited to present your application to the Paine Grant committee at an evening meeting in April. All applications will be reviewed and approved by the Paine Grant committee with final approval by the Ipswich School Committee by the end of May each year. Submission of a grant does not guarantee that it will be approved. Funds for approved grants will not be available until at least July 1.

    1. Can I submit a multi-year grant?  Answer: One-year projects, programs, and activities are not necessarily excluded from continued funding, but must be re-submitted for future grant consideration.

    2. Can staff positions be funded by Paine grants?  Answer: Staff positions may be funded by a  Paine Grant provided that (1) positions directly support Feoffees-funded initiatives, and (2) the funding duration of any positions are defined in the initial grant proposal. Compensation for positions initially funded by Feoffee funding may be extended at the discretion of the Superintendent working in collaboration with the School Committee. Funding for said positions may come from either Feoffee funds or other revenue sources.

    3. What happens if my grant is approved? Answer: You will be notified by email from the Chair of the Paine Grant Committee if your grant is approved in mid-to-late May. Funds will not be available until at least July 1 which is the start of the fiscal year. 

    4. What other responsibilities do I have as an applicant? Answer: you will be asked to attend a meeting of the Paine Grant Committee to present your grant for consideration. If your grant is approved you must complete the End of Year Reporting Google from in the fall after the school year in which your grant is implemented. You will receive the form via email with a due date and the information will be compiled and disseminated to the New Feoffees and the community through the SC newsletter, local newspaper, etc. Failure to complete this form may result in future grant eligibility.

    5. Can I submit a paper copy of the application? Answer: No. All applications must be completed and submitted electronically by the due date. Late applications will not be accepted. A member of IT or your building administrator can be available to assist with your application as needed.
